SELF-HOSTING DISCORD EVENTS

Greetings Warriors! I hope this document helps to get you set up. Note that Matt is also new to all this so please reach him directly ideally days prior to the event with any questions
- Schedule an event. Our preferred “public event” channel is “Roundtables & Events” located in the Live! category
- This channel functions much more like Zoom, with the ability to create a future event link, mute participants, ask questions etc etc
- Whereas the livestream channels are much more quick & casual and far less features.
- Share our preferred link whenever possible:
- Ensure the Discord links on that webpage actually work
- Discord seems to have a nasty habit of timing out links despite us setting them to never expire.
- Contact Matt if they are dead, or directly create an invite link yourself from within the server to share with your guests if Matt cannot be reached.
- Ensure new members are added
- At the top of the Inspired Warriors group, you’ll see the “Members” section – please ensure any new members are added before the livestream
- Please Note: Roundtables & Livestreams cannot be recorded within Discord.
- For that we need a third party app like OBS, and generally the larger official “Inspired Warrior” branded livestreams (hosted by Matt) will likely be held via Twitch or YouTube
- Matt is very much still learning the ropes in that department
